The challenge is open to each workplace located within Durham County or the City of Durham -- organizations small and large and belonging to any industry. As you register, select the category "Workplace". Then, provide the brief set of information requested about your organization and the primary contact person.
The challenge has a total of 500 possible points, with additional bonus points for innovative approaches to green workplace practices. Your workplace can achieve three recognition levels -- Bronze, Silver, and Gold -- at the following point levels:
Within 30 days of registering, complete the scorecard to determine how your workplace currently ranks. Then, implement new practices and procedures listed on the scorecard to improve your workplace's score and green performance. We encourage you to update your scorecard as you make these improvements.
Once you create an account, you can view your scorecard at any time by signing in and going to your organization's dashboard.

As you pursue the Bull City Workplace Challenge, we expect your workplace to make strides in reducing your overall energy use, water use, and waste production. Though we do not award points for achieving specific reduction levels, the following goals may serve as general guidelines. Of course, what's feasible depends on what you're already doing!

Throughout the Challenge, we will profile individual participants, such as those who are high performers or who make notable progress. All participants will receive a certificate and an electronic seal of recognition displaying your achievement level, which you can use in print and online materials.
